This shows you that Bailey's credibility is so abyssmal that the gay rag won't even run his research ads.

Chicago Free Press Editorial: No Bailey Ads.
http://www.chicagofreepress.com/news/editorial/index.html

An excerpt:
"Since we cannot in good conscience steer our readers to a study that Bailey is part of, we´re canceling the ad. And in the future, before accepting any ads for research studies, our ad staff will ask who is involved. If Bailey is, we won´t accept the ads.
There are other researchers involved in this study. They may have good motives, but we question their association with Bailey. We appreciate good science. We don´t appreciate being used to further the dubious agenda of someone who believes he should not be held accountable to our community."

Kudos to CFP for not only not running any future ads, but for putting this editorial out there explaining exactly why.
That's actually pretty rare in the newspaper world, where 'we're not gonna run this guy's ads anymore' conversations happen on a sometimes daily basis (OK, maybe monthly in my neck of the woods, but CFP is a far bigger paper!)

Here's mine:

Re "Bad Science"

DEAR EDITOR:

Thanks for your enlightened editorial explaining the exact reason for not accepting research recruitment ads for spurious psuedo-scientific activity by J. Michael Bailey.

When a person proves repeatedly that they are willing to corrupt science and betray community in the service of personal ambition, that person must be dealt with firmly, with a direct message, as one would grab the hand of a small child who wants to harm other kids, and say, "No, you cannot do that. You're hurting your friends."

Again, my gratitude for your sensible and brave rejection of Bailey's ad.
