BEAROTICA 3: MORE HAIRY BEEFY MACHO FICTION
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The fur flies again! Editor Ron Jackson Suresha seeks submissions for Bearotica 3: More Hairy Beefy Macho Fiction, a collection of hot all-new fiction for, by, and about Bearmen and the critters that love them. Deadline: November 1, 2008.
Please read carefully these Submission Guidelines for Bearotica 3:
1. Submission deadline: November 1, 2008. Final decisions within 2 months after deadline, probably much sooner.
2. Preferred length: 2500-3500 words. If your story can’t be told in less than 5000 words, it’s not for this anthology.
3. Send your absolute best lusty tale of hot, hairy, heavy sex between men.* Your completely unique, fully developed and polished story should: contain real characters, settings, and action details, and a clear beginning, middle, and end; fully depict authentic characters with as much interior passion as raging hormones; and build a sensual description of the sexual environment, encounter, and aftermath. Realistic dialogue, with feeling and humor, is strongly encouraged.
4. Of particular interest are authentic stories in unusual historical and non-USA settings, and stories that might feature or include racially and ethnically diverse characters and bearish body types. My current hot list: arctic oil riggers, cubz in da hood, furries, gladiator lovers, prison cellmates, pirate / stowaway, pro wrestlers /bodybuilders, postal carriers / delivery guys, hippy / punk musicians, rest-stop encounters, closed-set married couples, Abrams/Villa/Karn slash fanfiction.
5. Use standard manuscript (MS) format. If you are unfamiliar with MS preparation, please consult a style manual first, or search "standard manuscript format."
6. Name (and pseudonym, if used), mailing address, phone number(s), e-mail address, word count, a 50-word-max story summary, and a 50-word-max bio should all appear on a separate front page.
7. Mail to: B3, c/o RJ Suresha, POB 2278, New London, CT 06320-2278. No email submissions, please.
8. Queries only to: bearsoup at gmail_dot_com . Please don't ask me which of your stories I'd prefer: just buy and read the first two collections, Bearotica and Bear Lust, and give me sparkling, polished bearotic writing just like that or better.
9. To be notified of receipt of your MS, please include self-addressed stamped postcard or e-mail address.
10. Remuneration, including monetary payment and contributor copies, to be negotiated, depending on length, total number of stories selected, and reprint/original, probably $50-100. No kill fee.
11. *About Bear gender and identity: Contributors need not be Bears nor men themselves, though it certainly helps to be part of the gay/bi/queer male bear community. Stories should focus on bear-identified and bear-bodied mansex and eroticism between macho guys, but may feature bi/trans situations and characters including (but not limited to) nonbears, women, transgenderqueers, and other characters who love bears — as long as you can write authentic erotica about them, and bears. No twinkbashing, vaginaphobia, or hottest-bear-in-the-bar stories, please.
