I blog about gay and bi male Bears (the two-legged kind) and bear subculture, other contemporary queer masculinities, bisexuality, GLBTIQ activism, progressive politics, spiritual life, my family and local activities, and my writing career.
All my books in print are available online through links at my Website.
My 2006 books: ~ Bi Men: Coming Out Every Which Way (copublished as a double issue of the Journal of Bisexuality) ~ Bi Guys: Firsthand Fiction for Bisexual Men and Their Admirers
My 2002 men's studies nonfiction book on the bear subculture, Bears on Bears: Interviews & Discussions (Alyson 2002) was praised on Salon.com and in The Village Voice.
My first book, a self-published hot drink recipé chapbook, Mugs o' Joy, came out in 1998. My 2007 projects include a commemorative anthology on the 60th anniversary of the publication of the Kinsey Male Report (to be published as a double issue of the Journal of Bisexuality due out October 2008), a revised edition of Mugs, and a book of Persian folktales.
I've edited several men's fiction anthologies including Bearotica: Hot, Hairy, Heavy Fiction (Alyson, 2002), and Bear Lust (Alyson, 2004), both InSight Out book club selections. A German-language edition of Bear Lust was published in 2005 entitled Power-Bären, published by Bruno Gmünder Verlag.
I have practiced yoga and meditation and maintained a primarily vegetarian diet since 1979. Philosophically I consider myself Hindu and Buddhist, but ethnically my heritage is Jewish, Native American, and Spanish. I am also a cancer survivor. I reside in NLC** with my amazing loving husbear, Dr Rocco Russo, and our mutt pooches, Cody and Maggi.
